Scraps

I had a funny old night's sleep, must have had my creative head on as I woke several times with scrapping ideas, so when I woke my head was buzzing. So this morning after a coffee I opened December's kit from Studio Calico it was just full of bits of scraps no full sheets of anything, I love this kit and it definitely has been used to the end...............although this month with the new kit (which I'm yet to use) I had to have another set of the papers so I will be scrapping with it a bit more. Back to today's layout I took a cute older photograph of James, which captures his personality and pieced together all the bits of scraps, I outlined most of the blocks but left the layout quite simple with just a title, a few gems and some journalling.......I'm really rubbish with journalling, would be grateful of any tips.

Birthday celebrations are over for a little while, well until the big party. Today I popped over to my crafty friend Amanda's, we did a little scrapping as Sophia was at nursery. I used some stash from Studio Calico kits, unsure which one, and this weeks Sketchy Thursday Sketch. Check out their blog for great sketches and inspiration. 

Heres my example of the sketch................featuring yet again Mable and yes the photograph is rubbish, I really need photography lessons and some decent lighting.

Its arrived

Well the big day arrived yesterday..............I was 40, had a fab time with family and a few friends, got lots of lovely presents and cards. Got the BIG party a week on Saturday so no doubt the celebrations will continue until then..........being 40 isnt soooo bad. Last night we went to local restaurant on sea front for a family meal, love this place.

Sunday = chill time

I've have had quite a relaxed day, apart from taking the dog for a rather chilly walk along the beach, just spent day be a little creative. Although the process was very slow I'm really happy with the result...........I used this sketch from Creative Scrappers, if you haven't check out this blog before, its a great source of inspiration...so check it out.

Here my attempt, I've used papers from Lily Bee, Sassafrass lass, October Road and Making Memories......bit of a mix but think it works and look the stitching is back too. I also handmade the embellishments.....I have a few left so they will be featuring in a card or two.

Its Friday.........HOORAY!!!

Thank goodness it Friday.............It's been a long week

Well its only five days now to the BIG 4 0.........and I'm feeling every year at the moment, having a little time off from work to recharge my batteries, and they so do need recharging after this cold marlarky, still got the bloody cough. Got a couple of things planned fro next week, a meal with family, catching up with a friend and sharing birthday celebrations with a friends, maybe to a fancy Chinese..........then the BIG PARTY on the 5th March.

Look at my girl, so growing so fast now shes 6 months old.............just sharing this layout, its a mixture of papers from various companies and some other bits of stash, loving butchers twine at moment, think I might have to purchase more in various colours.

Tonight while checking out the new Sketchy Thursday sketch, I came across the March Guest Design Team Member Challenge, loved the sketch so thought In for a penny and I had a go, used some scraps out of my box think most of the papers are from MME . Tomorrow hopefully going to have a go at new sketch

Better late than never

Its a bit late, my attempt at last weeks Sketchy Thursdays, sketch challenge............I lost my camera cable so I could upload sooner, although I completed it on Sunday. I used some papers from Crate.......think they are brook collection, but I could be wrong. Actually not sure I like the finished result at all. Well there is a new sketch up for this week, its rather lovely..............so may have an attempt tonight is I can find a few photographs, why do you checkout this blog? also hoping to get on with Shimelles new sketch too

Well in January I was very creative.......................this month has been a bit slow. Yesterday I treated myself to the new "echo park" "for the record" collection, lets hope new stash can re start my creativity.

Happy Feb, to everyone............Well its 20 days and counting to my 40th Birthday, yikes how can I be that old!!!

Last week I did a blog post about what creative trouble, I wanted to get up to in the next week, think this may have to be a regular post as last week it inspired to do 5 layouts , which believe me is unheard for me, also in January I posted more in one month than I did in the whole of 2009. Looks like my mojo is back big time.......lol. Although I have been following Sketch Blogs for inspiration, I'm yet to go it alone, just making the most of it while it lasts

Sketchy Thursday has just put up a new sketch, love this sketch and think it'll be the first on the list...

next Pencil lines posted another fabby sketch on Sunday evening......
