My New Venture

Hi Guys.......................This is the reason no scrapping going on in my world. Just started a new job in September, for my brother Kris, helping him getting his restaurant and wine bar up and running. Its called Twelve2 and situated in Sunniside, Sunderland two minutes from new bowling alley. The wine bar is now open with the restaurant following in the next week or so. The wine bar serve 23 wines by the glass, great variety to choose from.

Undiscovered

Hello, Its getting to be a habit this blogging stuff.......lol. Today see Samm set a fab challengeover on the Scrummy Blog, check it out HERE. She challenges you to scrap your favourite band/artist/song, so scrapped this gorgeous song by James Morrison "Undiscovered"........which describes how I feel at the moment in my life. I've used the very scrummy new crate papers "mia collection" and a few other bits n bobs, these were so easy to work with too. I've also got the new "prudence" ones waiting for me to collect from PO this morning, can feel a scrapping afternoon coming on..............but dont hold your breath.

My turn again to set a scrummy challenge over on the blog. After days or should I say weeks of head scratching I came up with a sketch., which is up on the blog. Why dont you all pop over and have a go, its so simple to work with. Have fun and remember to leave links on blog to your creations.

Heres my example using various bits n bobs from previous scrummy kits, want to add some journalling to say "however what happens or how far apart we are there always be us" but james thought it was to mushy and say it would spoil it, so I journalled on the back and may add at some point ;)

Maria and I walked, as we had done little or no training. We completed it in about 50 minutes, which wasn't too bad. Good day had by all, next year my determined to run it.

Puppy Love

Supplies used
photograph 6x4"
12x12 whitecardstock
12x 12 blue cardstock
sheet of patterned paper
scraps of white cardstock
scraps of co-ordinating pattern paper
white lace cardstock
a circular journalling stamp
alphabet stickers for title
acrylic paint
journalling pen
The Sketch

Instructions
1. Firstly tear a strip of blue cardstock approx 6.5" wide, leaving a rough edge on either side, then stick to white cardstock about 2/3rd the way across.
2. Tear a strip of the patterned paper approx 5" wide (tear towards you, as this will leave a white edge on either side) Then stick over blue cradstock so there is a border showing.
3. Mount 6x4 photograph on to a scrap of white cardstock, trim to leave a border, then using journalling pen to doodle a line around border. Then attach to layout at a slight angle.
4. Cut a strip of flowers from lace cardstock to fit vertically down the side of photograph. Then paint in co-ordinating colour and leave to dry.
5. Meanwhile stamp the journalling stamp onto scrap of patterned and again onto white cardstock. Cut out the one on the patterned paper and only cut out the journalling section from white one. Mount the journalling panel onto the patterned one. Then stick to bottom righthand corner of photograph.
6. When lace cardstock is totally dry. Stick to layout as in photograph. Cut some small flower shapes from the remainder of patterned paper. Stick these to the centres of each lace flower and attach a brad into centre.
7. Finally add title, I doodled around the letters to make them stand out from pattern paper background. Then add your journalling.
