A relaxing Sunday

Well Its Sunday, day of rest and all that. Its very chilly here on the coast in the North East, so after a quick coffee I'll wrap up warm and take the hound for a brisk walk. Then when I get back going to spend day in the house, tidying, cooking and hopefully start on a massive card order of 30 cards.

Todays card features a freebie image from Krista at Saturated Canary, she sooo cute. Krista has some new images out on Monday........might have to sit on my hands.

Poo!!! made up a card with the coloured image that was on my desk yesterday, together using the patterned papers too. Also I used Jens sketch # 37 from Deconstructed sketches, but when I looked to upload I had missed the deadline......anyway thought I would post it anyway. It features Wryn, find it here, shes coloured with Promarkers, added a few scraps of patterned papers from my scrap box, the sentiment is from Lilli of the Valley, also added string, roses and a bit of bling. Viola!!

Today I thought I'd join in on Whats on your Workdesk Wednesday, joined in a few times last year, but this is my 1st post of 2012, hopefully many more to come.why pop over to Julia's blog and check out what everybody else is up to.......maybe you might join in too

I've fallen in love colouring many of the gorgeous images out there my favourite has to been Wryn, she is an uber cute little girl created by Christy Croll, available from Tiddly Inks......and love the fact they are digital, now i have a printer that works :) You may find evidence of this love affair on my desk, Christy's newest creation, together with a bundle of patterned papers. These I plan to play with tonight.......so watch this space for a card creation.

The recent Tiddy winks challenge theme is "valentines" so had this Wryn image coloured so I popped together a card. Its very simple design I just concentrated on the the image, which is soooo cute by the way, I added a dollie and a hand written sentiment.

Kept my card pretty simple added a bit stitching, polka dot papers, seam binding and a few roses.....easy peasy.

Morning, Its a bit chilly here in the North East this week. So hopefully will get a few challenges and a bit of crafting done while weather is cold. Nothing better than keeping toastie and a constant supply of coffee, when its bitter cold outside.

Today's card is a commission, a friend of a friend requested a card for her grandad who's 80 years young, apparently loves gardening and especially his rose garden. So after a bit of a search for a digi stamp, as did have anything suitable I can across this image from Mo's digital pencil shop. I coloured it with Promarkers, the papers come from "October afternoon", added kraft, roses, seam binding, lots of stitching, mini alphas and some thicker numbers........its a bit chunky so it has to go in a box.

Hope she likes it........I'm quite pleased with it.

WHOOP WHOOP!!! I've eventually found my camera, guess where it was?................would you believe it was buried in my scraps box, which was put away nicely under the bed, until I needed some orangish paper tonight.

So now I can upload my card for the ribbon girl challenge "pink and blue" and the sketch from CPS . I've used a Saturated Canary image, lots of stitching, roses, pearls and seam binding. Was a bit chunky to scan so glad I found my camera, although cable did go missing briefly......well wasn't where I thought I'd left it.

I have been kind of busy lately ptting together a few Valentines cards, will share them later in week.......yikes It's Thursday already. Today's card features "rainy day" from Saturated Canary....find it here. I cant stop colouring these images and been tempted to buy more....tut tut. Thought I would enter this in the Saturated Canary Challenge, as I've used punched out butterflies from a Martha Stewart punch. Also a piece of gingham paper, a dollie from Sarahs Cards, and some seam binding from Wild Orchid Crafts.

I seem to have misplaced my camera, had place upside down looking for it, so had to scan my image.

While catching up on my blog hopping, I found a few peeps had been using these fab images from Saturated Canary these are design by Krista Smith and can be found on her Esty site HERE. Also there is a blog challenge site to go along with images. So this weekend I purchased my first image.....after I printed out image I was bit scared of colouring it as other peeps had done a fab job. I'm quite pleased with my 1st result although I think the hair needs a bit practice. I also checked out the challenge blog......and found a design team call, so thought why not so entering this card.

Ive used an image from Saturated Canary, papers from "echo park and crate", pink gems, seam binding and bit stickles to add sparkle. Image coloured with Promarkers.

Happy Monday!!

For todays card I have drawn inspiration from 3 different challenge.

Firstly the sketch comes from I {heart}to stamp, find it here , I did juggle the shapes a little.

Then I used a stamp for Lili of the Valley, and used it for the new Lili's little fairies challenge "new beginnings" . Finally the anything goes challenge for Wild Orchid Challenge.

I have used Stamp of baby and sentiment from Lili of the Valley, papers are from Crate (again), seam binding and roses from Wild Orchid crafts. Gingham paper is from Pink Paislee. Image coloured with promarkers. Also added stitchind, gems and stickles for a bit of sparkle.

I'm struggling a bit at the moment to get back into the creating mood............so the sketch from CPS popped up on Facebook and I thought I would give it a go.

I used more papers from Crate, trying to use up old papers.......I've got a stack of these, also used a digital image from the digi stamp boutique "isabella" she was a bargain at 99p, I printed her twice, once on patterned paper and pieced together her dress, flower and butterfly, coloured the rest with promarkers. Added stitching, some seam binding and a few pink gem stones.The sentiment stamp is from "lili of the valley"

Heres my first card of the year. Sketch has come from Lucy's blog, HERE.......I simply adore her clean and simple approach to card making, she is sharing a sketch daily. I'm going to try and do each sketch using the same papers from Crate. Heres the first one, added some stitching, seam binding, die cut from paper range and a journalling stamp from "stamps away" which has been stamp in versamark and embossed in white.

As today is Thursday there is a new challenge up on their blog......challenge 118 is a sketch, and heres my attempt at using it, a long with a gorgeous Lilli of the Valley image and this gorgeous holly stamp I bought today. I couldnt wait to get it home to use it and it was such a bargain at £3.50........I can see me using it a lot. Well suppose I best get back to the desk, these Christmas cards wont make themselves.

I drew pins, distressing and gems.................I have distressed and ink the edge of the orange and green papers but you cant see very well from the photo. Also add this gorgeous image from Lilli of the Valley too. Loving the green and orange with the brown colour combo.

I have used the gorgeous digi stamps from SJ at Little musings, find them here. Coloured with my Promarkers yet again, so love colouring at the mo. Papers are really old Ki Memories I think, some chipboard snowflakes from me stash, gorgeous white feather behind the image, think it gives it a floaty effect, also added bling and sparkle wouldn't be Christmas without it. The message is an old wooden stamp not sure where from but a great font.

Why or why am so tired after going to bed really early.........Well I have dragged myself out of bed, and thought I would share another card while having a cuppa. But first I have join Shimelle class Pretty Paper Party, I'm hoping it will get me back into scrapbooking.......cant remember when I last did a layout (sorry cant find the link but check out her blog here )

Heres the card, I'm not sure where the image has come from as was bought in sale last winter.........the papers are from lilibee design "jingle" 6x6 pad, muted more vintage colours. Think the message is from "stampedous"

added chipboard snowflakes from an old "scrapbook nook" kit, bling and organza ribbon. I coloured behind message with my promarkers to match in with the image.

Welcome to 10 things.............I keep forgetting to post my 10 things, this month I was determined to keep up. As I have been using my Promarkers to death lately thought I would list my 10 favourite colours I use regularly.

1. blush....great for skin

2. pastel pink...use for cheeks and highlights on skin

3. ivory.....use this as a base quite often

4. cool grey 2......use this for shadows, add over colours too

5. buttercup......great base for blonde hair

6. sandstone.......great base for brown hair

7. pear green.......just love the colour

8. rose pink

9. power blue

10. duck egg.........my newest addition

need to add 11. crimson using this a lot with my christmas cards

how do you store your Promarkers or pens?..........mine are just in a box but spend ages raking about looking for the colours I need. All ideas are greatly received.

Todays offering combines two challenges. Firstly use sketch from Saturday Sketches and the challenge from LOTV was "let it snow" The image of course comes from LOTV cooured with promarkers, papers are from K&Co and KI memories, but are quite old, snowflakes are cuttlebug and marianne designs and a piece of velvet ribbon from my stash.......and lots of sparkle. I also hand stitched on the card and message comes from Personal Impression.

I have been rather busy making Christmas Cards, testing the water selling them on ebay..........and making a few mistakes along the way.

This is my first of a few Christmas card using the Christmas angel digi stamps from Little Musings, I've used some old papers from my stash and the sketch from Saturday Sketches .....love the images, still struggling with purple, but think it kind of works.

Also can I pick your brains "what white pens do you recommend?" I've try the sakura white jelly roll pen, but not overly impressed............so which ones work for you????

Its been a good few weeks since I joined in, but today realised my desk represented my life at the moment. Lots going on but not getting anywhere in a hurry, organised or not so organised chaos....my life in a nutshell :)

I cant believe it only Wednesday, its been such a long week. The upside of Wednesday is I'm off tomorrow....hooray!! Today's card is another Lili of The Valley stamp, my stash of these is growing...........love each and every image, very cute. Today's card feature the lili ballerina stamp coloured with promarkers, a nellie die (love this scallop square, had it for ages but it remained in packaging. Now I've used it, I love it so will be using it more and more. Also added a thickers number to match glitter card. BTW not a big fan of purple, but kinda like this.

Morning all, well I'm back..............its been so long since I blogged. Actually I have no excuse, just think my mojo has had the summer off. I'm back card making and have a few to share, but cant get back into my scrapping :( which is sad.............anyone got any tips for getting back in to it? I have also joined Shimelle's learn something everyday class, and i'm also behind with this, have to admit not even read past first prompt, slap my wrists......think I need a rather large kick up the bottom.

At the Races

Had a fabulous weekend, catching up with good friends. On Saturday we put on our posh frocks and headed to ladies day at Gosforth race course. We drank Pimms, Champagne and had a little flutter. Thought our luck was in as we won the first race, but unfortunately no more winners. Great day.

Then had a lovely Sunday lunch and a couple of drinks at the coast. A great weekend was had by all, love to thank everyone for making it fab weekend.

Did manage a bit of crafting on Friday night and hoping to get a few days this week to catch up with a bit more. I did this card with a stamp from Lilli of the valley, they have got some new christmas designs out this week i think. After I made the card, I checked out their challenge blog........the challenge was "fun and games", well what could be more fun as a birthday, so I've entered this card.

Absolutely loving the Angel stamps from little musings.......Sj you have done a fab job with them, find them here. So when I was ask to create a card for a Holy Communion, I thought these stamps would be perfect. I used mainly scraps to paper piece the images..........loving how they turned out.

Its an age since I joined Kirsty on u stream for her Wednesday night online crop......actually its a awhile since I scrapped at all. Its been a tiring week, so enjoyed the fun and chat. Bloody loved the sketch, so layout actually came together quite quickly which is rare for me. I used a Studio Calico kit, which had lay on my desk unused. Photographs were taken on a hen weekend in Ibiza, yes Ibiza was hot and so relaxing...........no kids or men haha. Well off to work, enjoy your day.

Today's card was made specially for a friend......my brief was man's card for a Sunderland supporter. I dont really do football cards and didnt have much to choose from then I remember this little stamp from LOTV. I created the stripes on shirt and combined it with the sketch from LOTV challenge blog. Papers from MME butcher's twine, kraft, bit of bling and a punch from Stamp it up.

Last week I saw Shimelles new sketch on her blog, so I got out an untouched Studio Calico kit...........then I thought I should really use scraps as this layout screamed little bits of scraps. We all have loads of bits left from larger pieces, how do you use your scraps????? Also this is the first I've used misting sprays...........I was a wee bit scared, as I didnt want to spoil the layout which by the way took me a few hours to scrap, as i'm such a slow scrapper.

Just a quickee this morning, thought I'd post card from my desk yesterday, using a fab set of stamps from Inkadinkadoo, I love this tulip one. I find I'm using lots of scraps but the pile isn't going down at all, so this weekend mission is to use more scraps as box is over flowing.

I'm busy beavering away with some male theme cards, these are so difficult as I said in a previous post I struggle a bit with men's cards. After finishing my Father's Day card, all posted off and received, I'm still slightly (only slightly) inspired.....................today's card is the last Father's day card this year, again been digging into scraps these are very old crate papers.

I have spend the last few days sorting through stash, and reorganising crafting area, its been a long hard slog. Lots of stuff still in packaging and never used, also lots of stuff I'll never use. I found a little pile of Studio Calico stamps most of them limited edition ones from previous kits, still in original packaging. So I've decided to list them on ebay in three different batches, so you might grab yourself a little bargain

Today is the 2nd Anniversary of What on your Workdesk Wednesday, I've only been joining in for the last few weeks, loving all the comments on my creative mess..........that is my desk. Still working through the list that was on my desk from last week. Todays picture is of my small desk, I use to craft in front of the telly, its filled with yummy stash. Thickers from Sarah cards thrifty Thursday a couple of week ago....5 pack for £10, what a bargain!!! a cute little easel for displaying my cards, a few sheets of 12x12 from Echo park "playground" (got my eye on collection pack) and some Lilly bee design...........all gorgeous

A very quick one today as back to work today and house is a tip due to the fact we have just used it as a dos house all weekend. So a quick tidy around, a dog walk then workies. Todays card is using Pink Paislee 360 degrees think it a bit of a mixture of 6x6 pad and 12x12, not much too it really just a few strips of pp, kraft stars and some thickers. I struggle a bit with male cards................anyone got any more ideas?????

Here is the start of this years Father's Day card, hopefully I'll have a different one to share with you every day this week. For this one I kept it fairly simple, using image from "lilli of the valley", its so cute, coloured with promarkers. Add some gingham paper and a scalloped circle cut from a nestability die.

I've had an exciting weekend, and most of it quite spontaneous. But best of all was Take That on Friday night they were awesome, although the show wasn't as spectacular as "the circus".........the boys were amazing and Robbie well do I need to say more. Sketchy Thursday

Two layouts in one day...................it's a while since that's happen. When I spotted the new Sketchy Thursday Sketch, I had this layout in mind. Photograph shows my puppy (not so small now) running ahead on our morning walks, love when shes the only dog on the path, she reminds me of the littlest hobo (can you remember that program?) it had a fab theme tune. Well she runs ahead and sing to myself the theme tune...........people must think I'm mad singing as I walk along. I have used old stash with this layout, more old crate papers, rub ons and fabby flowers from an old kit...................mixed with sparkly thickers and some journalling.

I'm uber excited about my day today......................I'm off to spend some time with a friend, a bite to eat and a few drinks, then we off to see "Take That" Its their first date of the tour..............whoop whoop, me a bit excited. Bring you "Take That" news tomorrow.

Today my lovely friend Amanda came over to scrap and have a little lunch. We caught up on the gossip and ate cake. I chose the sketch from Shimelles blog here. I had the perfect photos of Mable with her ball on a walk, but I did struggle with the construction of layout, after three attempts..........I eventually got there. I used more old paper from Crate think some bits are from "prudence" and other bits from "mia" ranges. Once I sorted the journalling panel and title the rest just fell into place...................how do you put your pages together??

Happy Tuesday to you...................just a quick one this morning, a new home card featuring Lily bee designs "happily lost" 6x6 pad and I used some tando creative as a template for the house. Simple but quite funky.

Still extremely windy here but the sun is shining so great drying day if your washing doesnt blow away.......haha even better as no ironing if it does :) :)

Its sooo windy here on the North East coast............was blown off my feet taking Mable for her walkies this morning and its a tad chilly too. Today is the kinda day when you should stay inside and craft all day, but unfortunately I had to go to work. Its a short week for me as its a bank holiday weekend again.......just three afternoons then off for 5 days, hopefully in those five days I'll get all my Father's Days cards complete. This looks at these gorgeously cute stamps that arrived today, I have stamped all three images out ready to colour this evening. These are from Lilli of the Valley designs......and I'll use these for some of my Fathers Day cards, so watch this space

As I said in previous post, yes I've posted twice today, Thursday is my day off......so this afternoon after doing a few chores and having bloods done, I had some me time scrapping. I used a lovely sketch from Shimelle, she posts a sketch to play with every Wednesday....play along here. I wasnt sure where it was going but I love the finished page. I was a bit extravagant using a whole zva crystal swirl, normally I would chop it and only use a little bit at a time. The papers are from a 6x6 pad from Lily Bee Designs, the collection is "happily lost" very nice papers and gorgeous colours.......been using them a bit lately (will share another time). The large size butterfly is a die from Tim Holtz and the other is the old faithful punch from Martha Stewart.

Heres what was on my desk last night........I bought those little cute jar yesterday morning 4 for £2.00 bit of a bargain so last night I set about sorting my button box out, filling each jars with various colours so wish I had bought a few more as could do the same with blooms and other bits and bobs. Oh a sneaky peak at a plaque I'm busy with and some letters that are waiting to be painted, its a bit of a mess but organised choas is good, right? Heres the link to other desks

Seems life got in the way of blogging, so been a delay in posting last card from my Blog a Card a Day..............sorry folks.

So here it is. I had a few images coloured with pro markers so I put together these simple cards, stamps are images from "lilli of the valley" and very cutie.

Today's card features Popcorn the bear..............this image coloured with promarkers make the ideal birth, christening and birthday cards for youngester and can be coloured to suit boy or girls. Off now for tea got spicy meatballs, pasta and some rather tasty looking garlic bread, then heading out for a few glasses of vino with a friend.

Today we have to pretend its Friday...........as blogger was down yesterday when I tried to post yesterday card, so I'll post yesterdays card now and today's later.

For today's card I have used a rather cute stamp from "lilli of the valley", I bought at the craft show at Harrogate earlier this year, team it up with some papers from pink paislee, think they are a 6x6 pad from the 360 degrees range. I coloured the image with, you guessed it promarkers............its fab I chose the papers then just coloured image to suit also coloured my stamp message, which by the way is from lilli of the valley too.

the pink variation not sure where this paper is from was in a Studio Calico or could have been Scarlet Lime from years ago............found in a box of old papers. I'm trying my best not to buy any new papers....................but have you seen the new dots and stripes papers from Echo Papers???? I HAVE TO HAVE BOTH COLOUR WAYS....but I'm trying to resist

Today's card, have blogged this card before but its my favourite for using up those little scraps.....and as I've been making cards this week with these pastel papers they was lots of scraps. I think this punch is my favourite from Martha Stewart, its featured on many cards and scrapbooking pages. What do you do with your scraps? and how do you store yours? Mine are all in one box but been thinking maybe I need to sort them into colours then I may use them more.

Secondly heres my card for day three.....I have blogged this stamp a few weeks back, but love the colour combo of this one. This combo and card came to me when I was sleeping, I know I'm a bit sad, but it happens quite often actually. The stamp is from "Stampedous" and combined it with message stamps from "lili of the valley" with a little bit of sparkle..

I added kraft and came up with this too.........

I'll be back tomorrow with a card using scraps and lots of pastel colours, seems to be the theme of the week.

For today's card I dug deep in to my stash and found this daisy stamp........mmm why haven't I used it before? I stamped and coloured with yes the wonderful Promakers use 2" scraps to mount the daisies on to. A little tip if you don't have the right colour cardstock to use as a mount...........why not colour some white with the broad tip of your Promaker, you don't need to colour it all just a inch border so you dont waste your ink, I did this with the pink mount.

loved the card I made variations in a few colours....its easy to change the feel of the card by just changing the colour scheme.

Over the last few weeks I have been beavering away making cards for a couple of orders, most of them are new designs so I thought I'd share them with you. Every day for a week I will share a card or two with you, hopefully they will inspire you to get creating.

My first card is completed using this gorgeous giraffe stamp designed by the uber talented SJ, find her gorgeous creations here her blog of full of inspiration.....................dont blame me if you want everything. I coloured image with Promakers and combined it with this gorgeous polka dot paper. These cards are ideal for baby's birth, christenings and birthdays.

Yesterday was a busy day, filled up with little jobs that seemed to take up all day to do the simplest of things. So wasn't much me time for scrapping, which was annoying really as it was National Scrapbooking Day. After a bath and a hot cup of tea, I felt revived and started a page. So using a sketch from Sketchy Thursday and some more Echo Park " for the record", this is what I created. This photograph of my son is very rare at this time in his life, he never will have his photo taking so I have to use every opportunity I get.......I wanted to document how quickly he is growing up.

At moment I'm finding that my male scrapbook pages are getting quite samey (not sure that's a word but you know what I mean) You can use stars and buttons in so many ways. Anyone got any ideas? or could point me in the direction of male pages........to get more inspiration

Starting tomorrow I'm going to post a week in cards, I'll share a new card each day.

A very big HELLO from a very sunny South Shields hope everyone is enjoying the sunny weather and another Bank Holiday weekend. I've been home from work since before Easter, we haven't done much exciting just spent time walking the hound and enjoying the sunshine.......ooh and a little crafting al-freso. I've been enjoying Shimelle class "beyond Blogging for scrapbookers"............but now I'm a little behind got a bit disheartened as when I installed Google Analytics I didn't input the code correctly, so didn't have any data :( I'm rubbish at as techo stuff but with Shimelle's help I'm up and running.

Today's layout features photos which were taken on my day in photos featured the other day......I took loads as it was a gorgeous sunny day. I had photos so then to find papers, I think these old Crate papers from the "Prudence" collection also some of the embellishments worked well and along with another sketch from creative scrappers..............hey presto!!!

Remember I posted about journalling a few days ago...........Well I have journalled. Journalling reads " Mable your such a friendly soul. On our walks you love to say Hello to everyone"......shes such a sweetie, very short journalling but its a start.

As I use old stash for this layout, I wondered while doing this layout if people like me prefer to use new stuff?or dig deep for some old stash? or even mix both old and new? Why not challenge yourself to use a old paper range? please leave a link if you do.........thanks x

Not sure about you but sometimes I'm such a slow scrapper, this layout has sat on my desk for awhile as I couldn't decide if it need something else added............I started it with intentions of journaling a bit of a personal struggle I had with motherhood, but I wasnt brave enough or could find the words to say what I wanted. Well maybe I'll added it at a later date. I used a sketch from "creative scrapper" number #150, with is from 3rd April, so that was awhile. I used more Echo park "for the record papers" and some of my first attempt at rolled flowers.

I always struggle with journalling...........how do you journal? do you enjoy it or find it a struggle like me? I would love if you can leave link to anything you might think would help me.

I'd like to wish everyone a happy Easter..........We had a busy weekend, so spending today watching rubbish tv and cos I cant sit still I'll be pottering about with some cards.

I'm a little bit excited as ordered some more of the Angel Stamps from Sj, if you havent seen them hop over to her blog, some great examples using images........and a card from me (thanks Sj) be quick as they sold out very quickly last time. This card was completed using the gorgeous heart stamp that came on the same sheet as "lillian"

I'm taking part in Shimelle new class "Beyond Blogging for Scrapbookers" it has definately got me thinking about my blog. Some thoughts so far..........

I love sharing my cards and scrapbooking with everyone, and I love getting comments with helps me get to know my readers.....this week I have try to visit everyones blog who has kindly left a comment. I struggle to share the personal/family stuff as I'm not the best creative writer...........so hopefully this class might help me with this.

my hometown prompt 4

Sunny South Shields is the town where I live, actually I was born here and lived here all my life. I have spent all my life wishing I lived somewhere else maybe in the countryside or even in another country, preferably somewhere warmer. Its only recently that I have been glad I live here......the beach is just 5 minutes away and we have a lovely green belt owned by the National Trust that stretches to another beach about 2 mile up the road. I spend most days walking my dog along the beach and the cliff tops, admiring the amazing view. I'm now very grateful to have this beautiful coastline on my doorstep.

This layout was inspired mostly by the photographs which were taking on a daily walk, I used them along with this sketch from Shimelle, its the sketch of the week, her blog is full of inspiring creativity. I kept layout quite simple just focusing mainly on photographs, added little embellishment and some simple journalling.

I wonder if you all love where you live? or do you wish you lived somewhere else? maybe a million miles away......please do share your thoughts

Spring Clean

Well day two of Beyond Blogging for Scrapbooking has made me think about the design of my blog........ I've made a few changes today, but hopefully will change more bits as the weeks progress. I'm on the lookout for inspiration of design changes. I deleted a few things from my side bar, I kept the blog roll as this is how I like to keep up to date with my favourite blogs, I also kept the challenges as I use these as inspiration. I deleted my header as I think it was a bit dated. Changed template to something a bit more fresh...............let me what you think??????

A few weeks ago I ordered a stash box from papermaze. You were able to chose a manufacturer so as I love October Afternoon I couldn't go wrong.............loved it stuff with "modern homemaker" I have to be honest wouldnt have normally gone for this range but love it all, stamps,papers,chipboard shapes and stickers.

Heres what I made again Red and Pink combo.................gives a great 50's look ideal for a new home card.

and the stamp is from "stampedous" a delicious cupcake, added some stitching, a bloom and button

I get some funny requests, my brother asked me to make a sparkly penguin birthday card..........penguins??? in April?? Eventually remembered I had bought a polar bear stamp in the sales after crimbo, it also had a cute penguin on it as well. So stamped them several times and coloured with promakers.........and this is what I came up with. Love the result its such fun............just hope its loved as penguins are not just for Christmas haha

The very talented Wendy Mckee sent me this award, I love keeping up to date with her craftiness and was quite chuffed she reads my little old blog.

I have to list five things about myself and one has to be thing I enjoy about crafting.

1. I am very messy and very unorganised, always running around like a headless chicken to get things done in time..........but they always get done, even if it means a very late night. I wish I tidied as I went and not leave it till I cant bear it anymore, then takes me an age to sort.

2. I have re discovered reading, something I hadn't done for awhile. Find the escapism help my sleep pattern, relaxes my mind and helps me get a few more hours sleep.

3. I love my hound.....ooh and my son James. Spend a few hours a day walking along the coast.......Its just ME time.

4. I'm always busy with something crafty, whether it card making, scrapbooking or even cross stitching although I havent picked that up in a long while but I'm sure I will again soon.

5. As its mother's day............I yearn to be better mother. Although I think I do an ok job, but there is much room for improvement, I struggle with this parenting lark..........you think I may have got the hang of it after 15 years.

Happy Mother's Day to you all, hope you all have been spoilt rotten. My big boy, has been up given kisses and a gift and now hes back in bed......haha thats teenagers for you. I'm well back into my reading so loving his gift two novels by "Jody Picolt" My Sisters keeper (which I've wanted to read for ages and have put off seeing the film til I've read the book) and Mercy (which sounds like a bit of a tearjerker). Hopefully he'll come with me to walk the hound and visit my mum......I'm preparing a Chicken Casserole and Dumplings for tea, so no cooking but maybe a little crafting today. Talking about crafting this gorgeous stamp from little musings arrived on Friday and I love it, so last I made a quick card using Echo Park "for the record" papers, bit glitter and sewing (well it would be rude not to), I'm very happy with the result.......now hoping S J will be doing more stamps, here a link to her blog

The sun has made another appearance today after yesterday's miserable day. Its a quick one today, I'm still busy with cards for Cakectra not got any time for scrapping and beavering away. I have been asked to do a selection of cards featuring ages for young kids, so last weekend at the Harrogate show I bought some fab "lili of the valley" stamps. So here is the first design using the little ballerina coloured with promakers (i have been playing) Today I'll begin with a design for the boys..........so will be busy busy busy again

Hasnt it been a lovely week so far..........on sunny days I love the fact I have a dog, we have had a few long walks this week. Today is my day off, so did a bit of spring cleaning this morning, till the sun came out then headed to beach with Mable.......back for a quick coffee then to my craft desk for a little creating, as got a few things in the pipeline but nothing to share at moment.

busy busy busy

This week I have a been extremely busy, firstly I'm loaded with cold again, crikey feel like I have had cold since December............from tomorrow will start taking vit c with zinc, to hopefully ward off more colds. Secondly some friends have opened this week a new cake shop, Cakectra and they asked me if they could stock my cards, so I been beavering away with card making, which means Scrapping as been put on the back burner for now..........as possible got another outlet in the pipe line. Thirdly I have been to the Harrogate show demoing for my old bosses......had fun and sold out of stock. I came back with a few bits for creating yet more cards, but must get on with immediate orders.

I'm falling behind a bit with my scrapping and my promise to myself to keep up with recent challenges. Today's layout has sat on my desk unfinished for over a week, as real life got in the way. Well last night although still really tired from the weekend I spent 10/20 mins finishing it off. I used sketch 226 from Pencil lines which is from a couple of weeks ago and the gorgeous "for the record" from Echo Park...........waiting patiently for "playground" to hit the UK shores.

Its a lovely sunny day, but a wee bit chilly here on the North East coast so going to head out with hound for an early morning walk, then back to get some jobs done before work looks like another busy day.....just blog hopping while finishing my coffee, and ooh Mable is chasing her tail..so funny :) :) :) I leave you with a photo of me at my birthday party. Now that the night is over I can share my new Echo Park layout, but firstly I have to share the inspiration behind it.....Its this layout from Wendy McKee, she is such a talented woman and I follow her blog religiously as its packed with lots of scrummy stuff, its the first time I have scrap lifted one of her layouts, and I hope I do it justice. I used For the Record from echo park, I just love these scrummy papers....be prepared for lots of layouts with them.

I have been busy playing with the new Echo Park "for the record" this line is a delightful mix of papers, with a bit of a modern vintage feel .....will combine nicely with old and new, glad really as I don't really do vintage, think it looks great when other people do it, but I cant quite get it right. The collection pack has sat on my desk for a few days after receiving it a few days after they hit the country.....thanks Angel Crafts for your prompt delivery I was a little scared to use it, cut it as it was sooo pretty.....Well was checking out a few of my favourite blogs when I came across Tracie Hudson's sneak peeks at her new classes and guess what she had use these papers. I love her work its amazing, shes such a talented lady......She inspired me to have a go with these gorgeous papers , so I got to work cutting and sticking.........I love these papers and have even reordered some of my favourite sheets.
